I have just been awarded University Blues, which was a pleasant surprise. I had no idea what this means, but apparently I get a little pennant and a certificate. “Blues are awarded to any Athletic Union Member deemed to have excelled in their chosen sporting field,” So it is only right and proper that I pass on some tips for athleticism.

Cross training is very important, particularly if its fun.

Its important to let your body recover, that means sleep lots.

Bi-Lateral transfer is vital. Here I am holding a drink in my left hand. A useful skill for any budding athlete.

Having a nice hat will get you out of most awkward situations.

Ryan air just sent me an email reminding me of my flight details to Turin next week. A week or so in Tessin and Val Sessia. Will we get the water? Who knows?!

Pat sent me this shot today… Fired up!

I’m back in Wales after a short foray to the shire, and back in my seat of learning, with paper and pens and everything! Obviously we couldn’t start the term without a barbecue in our damn fine garden, so we did.

Dom

or” ‘Pots” if you are cool, is a squirt spot, next to a nice pub, in the sun, with lots of girls walking past in summer garb. It was only natural that I should spend a couple of days there while I’m down in custard country. Cheers to Tom Bailey for the accommodation and smell of cat piss, and big props to Andy for mad party!

The next village along from my home in Somerset is Draycott, a sleepy village of a few hundred, where a few of us have had a bit of land set aside for building mountain bike jumps, for the greater good (the greater good). Now it seems the lovely open land next to this area is part of an application to change the use to camping and caravan site. The roads round us are far from roomy at the best of times, and the additional traffic will only cause further trouble. If you are interested, please click the banner or go to www.solid2007.com , find out more, and sign the petition.

The land can just be seen in the background. Me flying high last year.

Earning a Crust…

A few days work for a few days pay. Its a hard life…

Now I’m back in Somerset, and getting excited about Squirtboating at ‘Potts this weekend!
