They say the climate is changing. The Crocuses and Daffodils are certainly out earlier this year, or maybe every year we forget when they arrive. Anyway, they look quite pretty, and provide an excellent opportunity to try something a bit different with my photography.

I’ve been supported by Canadian based company Level Six for about 18 months now. Innitally through Lambs to the Water, and more recently a bit more directly. They have always been super cool and enthusiastic about our shenanigans, which makes them great to work with. Excitingly their new website went live today, and they have loads of shiny new kit, which will be coming to the UK in the near future.

A little while ago a good mate of mine from my giddy school days, Dish, asked for some video so he could have a crack at putting together a short flick. Obligingly I sent him a couple of hours worth of footage from Irn Bru, mostly Jules’s stuff as I remember. Dish is not a paddler it must be stressed, and some of the captions are innacurate, but it is still enjoyable to watch. Enjoy!

The saddest, geekiest post I hope I ever make.

‘My, you’re well equipped there Mr Laws!”
My apologies, normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.

Nuff Said.
Julien Pike, and Danny Murphy are off on an adventure to paddle the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. Not many people know that it is called the Grand Canyon because it costs something like a grand to be allowed to paddle there! In a thinly veiled attempt to chop down the cost of their holiday, they ran a raffle, with first prize being a dinner party for 8. Keen to support such fine young chaps, and even more keen to win free food, I bought a few tickets.Lady luck was smiling sweetly on me it seems, as I won. An enormous thanks to Jules and Danny for providing such a fine meal.

Me, Port, and the golden ticket.

A bout of unseasonal warmth and sunshine, combined with the usual February lull in water warranted some time in my squirt boat. Its surprisingly roomy once you are in! Pic - Dave Fairweather
Two fantastic afternoons were whiled away spinning around and trying to sink, utterly marvellous, as the grin plastered across my face was testament to. Not so much a mystery move, as just a mystery as to what I was trying to do. Pic - Dave Fairweather
All this tranquilly was offset rather nicely by a very heavy session in classy Bangor nightspot, the Octagon on Friday night, and the Canoe Club Christmas dinner on Saturday. Top hats were worn, and much doffing was done, as well as all the usual things, ritual burnings and so forth.Pete
The weekend was topped off fittingly taking tea in the sun in Menai Bridge. It really was a snapshot of relaxed summer living, in early February. Hurrah for taking life slowly!
